Supermarkets supporting QEF in the Community

Co-Op Store Epsom

Our sincere thanks go to the Co-Op store in Epsom who raised a fantastic £1676.73 as part of their annual charity scheme this year.

Morrisons Foundation

We are delighted to announce that the Morrisons Foundation have very kindly donated £5000 for a Bugzi motorised wheelchair.

We were delighted to show Weybridge store manager Gary Hunt and Shirley Hollingright around the MERU workshop where we build the wheelchairs ready for hire. Our sincere thanks go to the Foundation for choosing to support us.

Waitrose Community Matters

If you shop at Waitrose please nominate MERU, QEF and VASD as your chosen local charity by completing the nomination form found in store.

Three good causes receive a share of £1,000 every month from the Waitrose Community Matters initiative.  The charities and community groups are selected by nominations from customer and Waitrose employees, so please be sure to nominate us in your local store.

Customers shopping in store are given a green token in which they can vote for which of that month’s three charities they want to receive the donation by placing the token in one of three Perspex tubes. At the end of the month the cash is divided up in proportion to the number of tokens a charity has received.

To nominate MERU, QEF or VASD just pick up a leaflet in the store from the customer services desk, and complete the details and then hand back to the customer service desk.  The form is very brief, and will take just a couple of minutes to complete.  John Lewis also have a similar scheme at their stores.

ASDA Community Life scheme

ASDA has a similar scheme but instead of £900. With the winner receiving £200. You can nominate a charity or store or on the website http://storelocator.asda.com/

ASDA have been supporting VASD at their Burgh Heath store, which resulted in a donation of £500. Thank you very much ASDA Burgh Heath.

Please get in touch with Soya on 01372 841128 or email soya.budhathoki@qef.org.uk if you have a contact at any other supermarket we can approach for support in the coming year.
